Third Hand [Part-2]

“Let’s silence him. Once we put some food in his mouth, he’ll a shut up. No one talks with food in their mouth. Here, this 1000 grand from Third Hand would do him a lot of good. Make sure you film him collecting it. That’s our insurance if he continues to open his mouth after receiving it.” Dick said, shoving a quarter sized brown envelope into Billy’s right hand.

“That guy won’t take it. He won’t. I know him. He’s such a pain in the back. You can’t trap him. He doesn’t even enjoy life. Think of something else. Get him re-assigned, or something. Something else. Please.”

“Just try. He’ll take it. I trust he will. Two thousand dollars at this time of the year is big money. How much does he earn for his troubles monthly?”

Later that evening, Billy accosted Head at “The Hideout”. No time for elaborate pleasantries. Billy pulled out a brown envelope from his back pocket, looked left over his shoulders and then up ahead.

“Here’s something small for you. From Third Hand.” he whispered, stretching forth a brown envelop towards Head who, raising his eyebrows, asked “who’s Third Hand, and what for?”

Head’s mouth opened with awe and his lips felt sour. He dropped the wine glass besides the bottle and looked straight into Billy’s eyes.

“Is it Dick, the head of Metrac?”

Billy nodded in affirmation.

“I see. So, he sent you here to bribe me huh?”

“No. Not at all.” He scratched his scalp.
