Naked Dance!

There are a many ways a chief may dance. But when he dances naked, it’s a sign there is trouble in the palace.

The African chief has a variety of dance styles to choose from. Palanquin dances are common, and synonymous with royalty across the continent. Many chiefs dance in palanquins, communicating using gestures and signs to the admiration of subjects.

During President Mahama’s tennure, I (like many open-minded citizens) saw and pointed at his naked dance but members of his inner circle were either too busy enjoying the dance or were blind to it.

I remember suggesting that the King’s wife (Mrs Lordina Mahama) stepped up to cover her husband, if no one else would. I’m not sure if this suggestion, posted on my Facebook wall got any way past that platform…

Another king is dancing naked!

A $217m medical facility lies fallow several months after its completion. A notable alumni of the university where the facility is sited (President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akuffo-Addo) goes to speak at an event as important as the launch of the university’s 70th Anniversary and chooses rather to dwell on his uncle’s “role” in the establishment of the university; the medical centre didn’t matter.

Reginald Sekyi-Brown (Champion of the #OpenUGMCNow campaign) may have been thinking along the same lines when he chose to take the #OpenUGMCNow campaign to the First Lady…

H.E Akuffo-Addo, I don’t know if this message will ever get to your attention but, if it ever does, please take it as an appeal from an objective, non-partisan Ghanaian citizen who sees things from a neutral position. Mr President, please ensure, as quickly as possible that the facility is opened for use.
